Ranmuthu Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use Ranmuthu, published by MADE BY MATTER PTY LTD (ACN 699 846 896). By using the app you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use it.
What Ranmuthu is
Ranmuthu is a matrimonial app for Sri Lanka. It is for people seeking marriage, and it is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. It is not a casual dating app.
We verify identities to make the app safer, but we are an introduction service, not a matchmaker or a background-checking agency. A verified badge means we checked a document and a face. It is not a character reference, and it is not a guarantee about anybody. Use your own judgement, tell someone where you are going, and meet in public the first time.
You must be 18
We ask your date of birth at sign-up and refuse anyone under 18. Accounts found to belong to someone under 18 are deleted, not suspended. Giving a false date of birth to get in is a breach of these terms.
Your account
You need an account to use Ranmuthu, and you verify it with your phone number. One person, one account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure — tell us at hello@madebymatter.com.au if you think someone else has used it.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting is permanent: it removes your profile, your photographs, and your verification history.
Being honest about yourself
This matters more here than in most apps, so it is a term and not a suggestion.
Everything on your profile must be true — your name, age, civil status, and photographs of you. Your photographs must be of you, recent, and must not include anybody who has not agreed to appear.
Misrepresenting your civil status is the most serious breach of these terms. That is why we ask you to affirm it separately and record when you did. If you are married and say otherwise, we will remove your account, and we may keep a fingerprint of your identity document so the same document cannot be used to make another.
How to behave
Do not use Ranmuthu to harass, threaten, deceive, impersonate, or pressure anyone. Do not use it to solicit money, advertise, or recruit. Do not upload sexual or violent imagery, or anyone else's identity document.
Do not take another person's photographs or details off the app and republish them, anywhere, for any reason. People here are visible to find a partner, not to be collected.
Do not try to get around a block, a ban, or someone's privacy settings, and do not automate, scrape, or probe the service.
We may remove content, suspend, or permanently ban an account that breaks these rules. For conduct that puts someone's safety at risk, we will ban without warning.
Verification
Identity and photo verification are optional, but some features expect them.
You may only submit an identity document that is genuinely yours. Submitting someone else's document, or an altered one, will end your account.
Some documents are checked by a person at Made by Matter rather than automatically. What happens to the image, and how briefly it is kept, is set out in the Ranmuthu Privacy Policy. We may decline to verify without giving reasons, which we do so that we are not explaining to a fraudster exactly what gave them away.
Your privacy settings
Ranmuthu gives you controls over who can see you, including hiding yourself from people in your address book. We will honour those settings. They limit what the app shows other people — they cannot stop someone who has already seen your profile from remembering it, or taking a screenshot. Please share personal details at your own pace.
Photographs and content you upload
Your photographs and words remain yours. You give us permission to store them and to show them to other users of the app as your privacy settings allow, and to screen them for safety. Nothing more — we will not use your photographs in advertising or give them to anyone else. The permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
What we own
The app, its name, its design and its content belong to MADE BY MATTER PTY LTD. Please do not copy or republish them.
Availability
We aim to keep Ranmuthu running, but cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or discontinue it, and if we discontinue it we will give reasonable notice in the app where we can.
Verification depends on services outside our control and may be unavailable at times.
Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or any other law that cannot be excluded.
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Where we are permitted to limit our liability, and to the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.
Because Ranmuthu is currently provided free of charge, and except as set out above, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it. We are not responsible for the conduct of other users, whether on the app or after you meet them — please read the caution at the top of these terms.
Apple and Google
If you downloaded Ranmuthu from the App Store or Google Play, that store's own terms also apply to your download. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app, and any support question should come to us rather than to them.
Privacy
The Ranmuthu Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why, including exactly what happens to your identity document. It forms part of these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and if the change is significant we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. If you are a consumer in another country, including Sri Lanka, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
